The archive is unfinished because the city is not done producing culture.
Hyderabad’s inheritance is visible. Its present is easier to miss because it has not yet been framed as history: a new café becoming a regular place, a studio testing a regional material, a cook changing the room without abandoning the recipe, a wall hosting work for one weekend.
Contemporary culture is not a decorative layer placed over heritage. It is what people make while living among everything the city already carries. Some experiments will vanish. Others will become the references a later generation assumes were always here.
HYDERABADDIE documents both directions of time. The city we received matters. So does the city being made before anyone gives it a plaque.
